Human Rights Action (HRA) condemns inappropriate personal insulting of RTCG journalist Ivana Šebek (which can be heard at the published recording) and preventing her from reporting on the protest organised by Demokratski front – DF on 15 November 2015.

Legitimate is the rights of participants of an assembly to express dissatisfaction with the editorial policy of the public service – RTCG and journalist Šebek, but criticism must not contain inappropriate personal insults and prevent journalists from reporting. There are more appropriate ways of expressing dissatisfaction.

In the spirit of culture of respect for human rights HRA recalls that hate speech is not protected by freedom of expression and does not serve the public interest in a democratic society.
