19/11/201518/11/2015 – DAILY DNEVNE NOVINE CONTINUE TO DECEIVE THE PUBLIC
Daily Dnevne novine (DN) published today only parts of the reply of the NGO Human Rights Action’s (HRA) executive director, Tea Gorjanc Prelević, to their selective publication of her private correspondence.
Faced with arguments discovering mounting of the so-called “international scandal”, DN failed to publish the reply of HRA’s executive director in full, but only selected parts, contrary to the explicit obligation under the Media Law.
Yesterday (on 17 November 2015) DN dedicated three pages (including the cover page) to the attack on the HRA’s executive director. The reply was shorter than the content it addressed, it did not require shortening nor did DN request it. Such performance only confirms the real intentions of the editorial board of this newspaper which, by violating the law and journalistic ethics, deceived the public and continued the campaign against HRA.
HRA filed today a lawsuit to the competent court as well as the complaint to the Media Self-Regulation Council due to violation of several principles of the Code of Montenegrin Journalists in relation to the content published yesterday, and the reply not published today.
The reply submitted to DN, which HRA published yesterday, with the parts that were not published in the newspaper today is available here.
