Human Rights Action, the Council for Civil Control of the Police and Civic Alliance organised yesterday, on 2 December 2015, at the Montenegrin Parliament a round table dedicated to application of police powers during the protests in Podgorica from October.
MPs Mevludin Nuhodžić, Velizar Kaluđerović, Snežana Jonica, Obrad Mišo Stanišić, Zoran Miljanić and Rešad Sijarić attended the round table, as well as the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms – Ombudsman, Šućko Baković, Zdenka Perović, Deputy Ombudsman, Ljiljana Klikovac, Head of the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, Danka Ivanović Đerić, Deputy Basic State Prosecutor in Podgorica, Nikola Janjušević, Assistant Director of the Police Directorate, Drago Spičanović, Head of the Division for Internal control of the Police within the Ministry of Interior, Mirko Đuković, Delegation of the EU, Milena Ćeranić, OSCE, Stevan Milivojević and Bojana Mišković representing a group of citizens „Građanski“, attorneys at law Velibor Marković and Branimir Vukčević, and Aleksandar Saša Zeković, President of the Council for Civil Control of the Police, Tea Gorjanc-Prelević, Human Rights Action Executive director, Milan Radović, coordinator of the human rights programme within the Civic Alliance, Aleksandra Kovačević, and Sanja Rašović from Civic Alliance.
The goal of the round table was to inspire the key actors for human rights protection and the integrity of the police to provide relevant information on their activities related to the implementation and verification of police powers during the protests in order to protect human rights.
