We strongly condemn the primitivism and disrespect for Islam in Tivat.We appeal to the Police to identify and prosecute those responsible for this act, inappropriate in a democratic and civil society Montenegro aspires to be.

We remind that the Police has not yet shed light on numerous attacks on Muslim religious facilities in several municipalities in Montenegro, such as the frequent stoning of the facility in Bar.

This is an opportunity to remind the public and local governments that many people of Islam religion do not have the opportunity to practice their religion in the communities they live and work, nor the possibility to be buried in the city cemeteries, which is particularly unacceptable.

The right to freedom of religion is a fundamental human right that must be guaranteed and protected.
